Skincare Routine Builder
Our skincare routine builder gives you a simple Korean-style morning and night routine in one tap. Pick your skin type below and follow the steps in order. Every routine uses a few steps only, because a routine you keep is better than a long one you skip.
Routine for dry skin
Morning
- Rinse with water or a mild cream cleanser.
- Pat in a hydrating toner while skin is damp.
- Moisturise with Avocado Glow Nourishing Skin Cream.
- Finish with sunscreen, SPF 30 or higher.
Night
- Cleanse gently. Use an oil cleanser first if you wore sunscreen or make-up.
- Pat in toner.
- Apply a generous pea-sized amount of Avocado Night Cream to face and neck.
Tip: dry skin loses water quickly after washing. Apply your cream within a minute of patting your face dry.
Routine for oily skin
Morning
- Wash with a gentle gel cleanser.
- Use a light, alcohol-free toner.
- Apply a very small amount of a light moisturiser.
- Finish with a gel or fluid sunscreen.
Night
- Double cleanse: oil cleanser, then gel cleanser.
- Pat in toner.
- Apply a thin layer of Glutathione Cream, about half a pea.
Tip: oily skin still needs moisture. Skipping cream can make skin feel tight and look shinier, so keep the layer thin instead of skipping it.
Routine for combination skin
Morning
- Wash with a gentle gel cleanser.
- Pat in a hydrating toner.
- Apply a small amount of Avocado Glow Nourishing Skin Cream, mainly on the cheeks.
- Finish with sunscreen.
Night
- Cleanse, twice if you wore sunscreen or make-up.
- Pat in toner.
- Apply Avocado Korean Night Cream: more on the cheeks, less on the forehead and nose.
Tip: treat your face as two zones. The cheeks usually want more cream than the T-zone.
Routine for normal skin
Morning
- Rinse or cleanse lightly.
- Pat in toner.
- Moisturise with Avocado Glow Nourishing Skin Cream.
- Finish with sunscreen.
Night
- Cleanse.
- Pat in toner.
- Alternate nights: Glutathione Cream one night, Avocado Korean Night Cream the next.
Tip: normal skin does well with variety. Alternating two creams gives you radiance care and nourishment across the week.
Routine for sensitive skin
Morning
- Rinse with lukewarm water only.
- Apply a simple, fragrance-free moisturiser.
- Finish with a mineral sunscreen.
Night
- Cleanse with a mild, low-foam cleanser.
- Apply a small amount of Avocado Glow Nourishing Skin Cream.
- After two comfortable weeks, try a night cream every second night.
Tip: do a patch test before any new product. Apply a little behind the ear, wait 24 hours, and add only one new product at a time. If you have a skin condition, check with your doctor first.
3 rules behind every Korean skincare routine
Thin to thick
Apply products from the lightest texture to the richest. Watery toner first, cream last. The cream seals in everything under it.
Hydrate in layers
Korean routines favour several light layers of hydration over one heavy coat. Pat each layer in and give it a few seconds.
Sunscreen every morning
Sun protection is the final morning step all year round, and it matters most when you use brightening ingredients such as kojic acid.
How to adjust your routine
The skincare routine builder gives you a starting point. Skin changes with weather, age and stress, so adjust the routine as you go.
Not sure of your skin type? Wash your face, pat it dry and wait one hour without applying anything. Tight all over means dry. Shiny all over means oily. Shiny only on the forehead and nose means combination. Comfortable everywhere means normal.
In hot or humid months, use less cream and keep rich textures for night. In winter, use a little more and include your neck.
Give it time. Follow the same routine for at least four weeks before you judge it or change it. To understand what each ingredient does, see our ingredients page, and for more detail on the evening steps read how to build a simple night skincare routine.
Routine questions
How many steps does a good routine need?
Three or four. Cleanse, moisturise and protect in the morning. Cleanse and moisturise at night. Everything else is optional.
Do I need the famous 10-step Korean routine?
No. Even in Korea, most people now follow a shorter routine. The idea that lasts is gentle layering, not the number of steps. Our Korean night cream guide shows a five-step evening version.
Can I use two Mirc Glow creams on the same night?
Yes. Apply the lighter cream first and the richer one last, and give each a moment to settle. If your skin is sensitive, use one cream per night and alternate them.
When will I see a difference?
Skin often feels softer within days. Changes in how even your tone looks take longer, usually several weeks of steady use.
What is glass skin?
Glass skin is a Korean term for skin that looks smooth, hydrated and reflective. Read our glass skin routine for Indian skin for the steps.
