How Long Does a Jar of Night Cream Last? Sizes and Cost per Month
How long does night cream last? Used once a night in a pea-sized amount, a 10 g jar lasts about 2 to 3 weeks, a 15 g jar about 3 to 4 weeks, a 25 g jar about 5 to 6 weeks and a 30 g jar about 6 to 8 weeks. Use it morning and night, or generously on the neck too, and those times roughly halve.
Below is the jar life of each size, what a month of each Mirc Glow cream really costs, and a quick way to tell whether you are using too much or too little.
How long does night cream last? Jar life by size
| Jar size | Nights of use | Roughly |
|---|---|---|
| 10 g | About 14–21 | 2–3 weeks |
| 15 g | About 21–28 | 3–4 weeks |
| 25 g | About 35–42 | 5–6 weeks |
| 30 g | About 42–56 | 6–8 weeks |
These are typical figures for once-a-night use on the face and neck, not promises. Your own jar may last a little more or less.
Why the figures allow for a little more than a pea
A pea-sized amount for the face is about 0.4 to 0.5 g. In real life, you also put a little on the neck, some stays on your fingertips, and the last bit in the jar is hard to scoop out. Together that comes closer to half to three-quarters of a gram a night, which is what the table above is based on.
If you use cream on your face only and scrape the jar clean, it can stretch a little longer. Our guide on how much night cream to use explains how to find the right amount for your skin type and season.
What makes a jar run out faster or slower
- Morning and night use: roughly half the jar life.
- Neck, chest and hands: each extra area adds up quickly.
- Winter, AC or dry skin: a second thin layer on dry cheeks can shorten jar life by a week or more.
- Oily skin in summer: half a pea is often enough, so the jar lasts longer.
- Sharing: two people sharing one 30 g jar will finish it in about three to four weeks.
- Skipping nights: the jar lasts longer, but the cream works through regular use, so this is not a saving.
Cost per month of each Mirc Glow jar
Here is what each jar works out to, using its price and the jar life above. "Per month" assumes a 30-day month at once-a-night use, rounded to the nearest ₹5. The lower figure is for a jar that lasts at the longer end.
| Cream | Size and price | Per gram | Jar life | About per month |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Avocado Glow Nourishing Skin Cream | 10 g, ₹349 | ₹34.90 | 2–3 weeks | ₹500–₹750 |
| Avocado Glow Cream | 15 g, ₹399 | ₹26.60 | 3–4 weeks | ₹430–₹570 |
| Avocado Korean Night Cream | 25 g, ₹649 | ₹25.96 | 5–6 weeks | ₹465–₹555 |
| Avocado Night Cream | 30 g, ₹649 | ₹21.63 | 6–8 weeks | ₹350–₹465 |
| Glutathione Cream | 30 g, ₹1,499 | ₹49.97 | 6–8 weeks | ₹805–₹1,070 |
| Glass Glow Cream | 30 g, ₹2,499 | ₹83.30 | 6–8 weeks | ₹1,340–₹1,785 |
How the figures are worked out, using the 30 g Avocado Night Cream as an example: ₹649 ÷ 56 nights × 30 = about ₹350 a month if the jar lasts 8 weeks, and ₹649 ÷ 42 nights × 30 = about ₹465 a month if it lasts 6 weeks.
What the table shows:
- The 30 g Avocado Night Cream is the lowest cost per month in our range, because it has the lowest price per gram.
- The 10 g jar is the lowest spend up front but the highest per month among the avocado creams. It is best for patch testing, travel or a desk drawer, not as your long-term jar.
- The 15 g and 25 g jars land close together per month, so choose between them on ingredients, not price. The 15 g is avocado and aloe vera only; the 25 g adds niacinamide and kojic acid.
- Glutathione Cream and Glass Glow Cream cost more per month because of what is in them, not because you need more of them. The same pea-sized amount applies.
Combos are simply two or three jars, so work out each jar separately. For a wider look at price bands, see night cream price in India and avocado night cream price in India.
A quick check that you are using the right amount
- Write the date on the lid the day you open a new jar.
- After two weeks, look inside. A 30 g jar should be roughly a quarter to a third used.
- If it is already half empty, you are using too much. Cut back to one pea for the face.
- If it has barely moved after a month, you are either missing nights or using too little. Skin that feels tight by morning confirms it.

How many jars until you see a difference?
Skin feels softer within days of starting any night cream. A more even-looking tone takes longer: skin renews roughly every 4 to 6 weeks, and most people need 8 to 12 weeks of nightly use with sunscreen every morning. That is one to two 30 g jars. Judge a cream at the end of the second jar, not halfway through the first.
Jar life vs shelf life
Finishing a jar in 6 to 8 weeks is also good for freshness. Once opened, every cream has a period after opening, shown as a small open-jar symbol such as 6M or 12M. Most people finish a jar well within that, but a half-used jar left in a drawer for months is a different story. Our guide to whether night cream expires explains the symbols and the signs a cream has gone off.

Short answers
How long does a 30 g night cream last? About 6 to 8 weeks at a pea-sized amount once a night.
How long does a 10 g cream last? About 2 to 3 weeks of nightly use, which makes it a good size for patch testing.
Is a bigger jar better value? Usually. The 30 g Avocado Night Cream costs about ₹21.63 per gram, compared with ₹34.90 for the 10 g jar.
Why does my night cream finish so fast? Most often from using more than a pea, applying it twice a day, or adding the neck and hands from the same jar.
Should I use more cream to see results faster? No. A bigger amount does not speed anything up and can feel heavy or cause small bumps.
